And Cassie's off

This news is less fun than Vivian walking, but we really enjoyed getting to see Cassie while she was in town.  The girls loved playing with their auntie and they showed her all they could do.  We packed a lot into her trip with time at the pool, parks, bowling in the basement, bubbles, play-places, swinging, cousin time, walking/falling, and dinner parties.

And they're off!

The girls have been running all over, and we don't mean that figuratively.  Vivian has started walking and seems pretty proud of herself.  She is also starting to talk more and often blurts out two grunts in order to say "thank you."  She also is working on saying Nina and has once said "Nani" for a funny throwback.

Otherwise, we've been busy enjoying all summer has to offer with parks, music, pools, and a trip to the arboretum.  All our time outdoors has caused some odd quirky quotes like, "I know bugs are scared of me, but I still don't like them."  She also keeps asking us, "have you seen any spiders or crabs today?"  Nina got about 2 1/2 inches of her hair cut the other day and didn't cry at all.  She was very brave and very patient.

Eleven Months

Vivian is already eleven months and growing into quite the character.  She is a great communicator, pointing and urging you to do her every will, and she will shout if you're not on the same page.  She loves to play outside, cruise around the furniture, and watch dogs and lights.  Vivian is currently rocking 3 teeth and looks to have more on the way.

Summer! (Kind of)

School is out and we're free from waking up early, driving to work, and missing out on play-time.  Now we just need the weather to realize it's summer and we'll head to the pool.  We still had a great day wandering around and we can't wait for what the rest of our break has in store.

June is here!

We're pumped up to be a week from summer.  This weekend was a busy one - visited and dined with family, went to the new gorilla exhibit at the zoo, hit up some graduation parties, went to Grand Ol Day, took a walk around Lake Calhoun, went to a retirement party and took 6 trips to parks.  Life is good.

Nina is a cute big sister and will sometimes kiss Vivian goodnight and sing her a song.  Vivian really wants to walk and stands independently a lot.  Her biggest obstacle is her crawling nemesis: her own shadow.  She will stop to look at it or touch it and is easily distracted by her little friend.
