Who do I look like?
In her early days, many people thought that Nina looked a lot like her mom. As she continues to grow, a few people have commented about how she looks like her dad. We dug through the archives and found two photos to help make some comparisons.

The Children's Museum
For Grandma and Grandpa's Christmas present, Nina took them to the Children's Museum to see the traveling exhibit, Japan and Nature. There were many toys, kids, and games for her to enjoy. We're excited to go again.

Nina Bean
Nina and Great-Grandpa Don celebrated Great-Granny Annie's birthday party yesterday. They enjoyed each other, the cake, and the musician that somehow featured many songs about girls named Andrea and Nina. Thanks to another Annie, Nina's aunt, who knit all the things in the pictures below. Nina loves her sweater, blanket, turtle, and owl... wow!

Practicing proper nouns
Nina has been babbling with more purpose lately, shouting "Dada" throughout the day. She had her 6 month check-up and all looked well. She is in the 75th percentile for weight and 70th for height. The doctor also pointed out that she has "Asian ear wax." Score one for Dada's genes. The doctor also checked that Nina has a good range of motion and flexibility; maybe all he needed to see was the picture below to know she's all set there.

Fun times
Nina had a great weekend spending some time with family and friends. We recently had breakfast with Suzanne and Ben, who bought her a toy that she has quickly grown to love, Curious George. She hugs, kisses, tackles and throws him all over the basement. We also had dinner with Emily and Paul and Emily made Nina a new hat and pair of mittens. Too cute. We spent time in Owatonna with the family and played plenty of games. Nina showed off her new skills of eating, sitting up, dealing blackjack, and talking.
Curious George = life-size friend-----Thanks Emily!

Sitting Up
Nina has started to sit up on her own and enjoys being such a big girl. She gives us looks to tell us that she's pretty amazing. ;)
I can sit and play------Look at me!-----Are you sure this is okay?

Half a year old!
It's Nina's six month birthday and it's amazing how much she seems to grow every day. She has started to sit up on her own, she continues to babble, she watches our every move and imitates when she can. She has also gotten better at eating and didn't spill at all yesterday, making her a neater eater than her mother (anyone who has seen Kara decimate a cheeseburger can attest to that). It was a busy and wonderful month and we're excited for what's to come!

Starting Solids
After watching others intently, Nina has gotten to start eating rice cereal. She has revelled in the opportunity to use a spoon and slop all over the place.
Also, note the cute wreath Nina made at daycare in the background above. A bunch of little green handprints made for a sweet present.
Give me that spoon, I can do this on my own
... actually forget the spoon

FLORIDA!
It seems like we were waiting for our Christmas vacation for so long and it flew by in the blink of an eye. We had an amazing trip with so many family members and despite a visit to Urgent Care, Nina had a great time, too. (She's almost 100% now, thanks to prescription meds and good grandparenting.) Even though it was a "chilly" 68 degrees for a lot of the trip, we had fun going to the beach, the golf course, shopping areas, and spending time by the pool. We hope your holidays were happy & we wish you all the best this new year.
