July

It's been a busy and wonderful month.  The girls really enjoyed having birthday celebrations this year.  Nina and her friends did a Harry Potter escape room and then went to her favorite, Olive Garden.  Pip and her friends went to Feed My Starving Children, were they worked together to package food for those in need.  It was great fun to party with family in town too.

It's also been very fun to have neighbors to play with and celebrate with.  Trips to the park, cookouts, bonfires and Fourth of July parties have been excellent this month.  The girls are making two trips to Nebraska as well and then Ben will finish up his time at 3M at the end of the month.

Pip is double digits!

Vivian is 10 years old and still never short on words or emotions for any situation.  She has really enjoyed being closer to her grandparents and cousins, and has liked hanging out with new neighbors and walking across the street to find friends.  She has really taken to gymnastics and a day doesn't go by without her practicing a skill.  Her school adjustment went pretty well and she really appreciated that her teacher had also grown up at an international school in Japan.  She felt a kinship, and they could talk about many of the same places that they had traveled.

Nina turns twelve

Nina is on the precipice of becoming a teenager and we are proud of the person she is becoming.  She loves to read, cares for others, and always tries her hardest.  Nina adjusted to school and new friends well, continued with her Chinese studies, and is headed to middle school next year.  She says that she really enjoyed the end of year celebrations at school, being a part of projects, collaborating, and celebrating a year with her new friends - especially when they had a sleepover too.
