While we weren't planning on any Halloween festivities this year, at the last minute we were invited to a neighborhood full of trick-or-treating and fun. The girls got some costumes from a friend and we had a great night. I believe it's the most candy we've ever gotten and the girls sure have no problem walking up-and-down the streets these days.
We have made some fun trips to museums. The school sponsored a trip to the Natural History Museum which was full of amazing sights. We also liked a trip to the Shanghai Botanical Garden where we attempted to see the changing of seasons. There were a couple of orange leaves, but mostly still radiant colors. The specially transplanted North American wild grass was turning purple for the season, so that was cool to see, and funny for us.
The girls have been very busy in school. They've had field trips, presentations, parties, and conferences. They are both doing well and Nina even earned an award from her Chinese teacher for her excellent effort, participation, and progress.
With all of our wanderings, we've been putting in quite a few miles on bikes as well. Ben rides them to and from work and Kara takes them to her volunteering and on some grocery trips. We'd been riding for free non-stop until this week. We had to get a membership - the 3 month level costs us each 75 cents! So crazy!
