Baptism Photos - Part I

Nina's baptism was a very fun time and Sunday was a special day. She was too excited to take her morning nap and stayed up for the service, intent on listening to the kids' choir. She then fell asleep at the beginning of her baptism and was not pleased to be awoken by water being dumped on her head. While she fussed for a bit, she was thrilled to walk around as the center of attention, giving everyone there a personal smile.

It was wonderful to celebrate with those who were able to attend. We missed Jake, her Godfather. Luckily, Cassie, her Godmother, was in town between job changes. Our photos aren't too great, nor plentiful. Annie contributed some great shots and the talented Michael Benham was clicking away as he documents many an event at St. Philip's. We hope to get his photos posted sometime in the near future.

The return of summer

We have all been enjoying this heat wave and have gotten the chance for a lot more fun outside. Nina is now sitting in her bumbo so she can look all around at the world.

Cassie, Matt, and Rod took Nina to the zoo where she was especially interested in how the monkeys were climbing all over their surroundings. Hopefully she didn't learn too much.

The Nak kids and their "special friends" all got to go to the Twins game on Thursday. It was a beautiful day and an ugly game. We got to rock our Pavano moustaches though.

Baptism tomorrow, hopefully all goes well, and the beautiful Fitzgerald gown stays white. All are welcome.

Third Month's a Charm

Month three has been a big one for Nina! She has started daycare, started grabbing & holding things, started babbling with more frequency, started laughing, started standing up with help. Enjoy the video!

Talking on our walk

Nina is loving the beautiful weather this week. Here's a tiny clip of her talking in her stroller then looking around at the trees. I think she's trying to tell her mother "Happy Birthday." It's also Nina's three-month birthday tomorrow, so another video is on its way.

Meeting Aunt Cassie

Aunt Cassie burst into the house earlier than expected and Nina was thrilled to finally meet her. This photo was taken seconds into their greeting one another. They read books, danced, talked, and worked out together. Both appear excited to continue the trend for years to come.

Nina had a very busy day even before she got to hang out with Cassie, Matt, and Aunt Annie too. She met with Father Jules today and wants to invite all her friends and blog-followers to her baptism next Sunday, October 10th. The ceremony will take place after the 10:15 mass at The Church of Saint Philip in Minneapolis; 2507 Bryant Avenue 55411. 10/10/10! The celebration will continue at our house afterward.

Nina also spent some of her morning working a water station at the Twin Cities Marathon and then toured Saint Thomas. The new atheletic facility was amazing!

Fun in the Fall

Nina had a good first full week at daycare and has been enjoying life. She had her first gut laugh the other day, inspired by her parents' laughter. She had a wonderful visit with Krista and Jess who brought cute outfits and cookies! She said goodbye to Grandpa Rod at 4:00am so he could finally bring back Aunt Cassie. She can't wait!

Happy Days

Nina has adjusted to her new schedule well, despite waking up and getting ready to go at 6am. Like her parents, she was excited for the weekend and enjoyed visiting with Grandma Katie. She just keeps growing, trying to talk, and trying to stand. She is enjoying bathtime much more now too!
