Picture time

It was a fast and wild weekend with Cassie in town and somehow we managed not to take any pictures of just the two of them.  sigh... maybe we'll get some in April.

15 months

Today is Kara's birthday and tomorrow Nina turns 15 months, so in honor of both, we made a video.  It's a bit long as we've had a lot of footage stored up.  Happy unbirthday to everyone else!  Nina is excited to see Aunt Cassie again, last time they were together, Nina was just beginning to crawl!  One and a quarter years seems crazy.

Warm weekend

Nina has loved the return to long trips to the park and around Como.  With temps in the 70s and 80s we've had a lot of outside time and found a new playground near our house that has a merry-go-round, lots of tubes, and even a climbing wall!  While she's fighting a bit of a cold, Nina is remaining a good eater and is happy to try some fall foods.

Last week, at daycare, Barb asked the girls not to pick the large tomato as they had plenty inside and moments later she turned around to see that Nina did not pick the tomato, but managed to eat the whole thing while it was still on the vine!  Looking for loopholes already!

Yay for free time!

We've been so busy running around that we've missed out on relaxed family time.  This weekend has been a chance to recharge, take a lap around Como, and play around the house.  Nina looks great in the dress that Emily made for her and showed it off at the 100 year anniversary of the hospital in which she was born, St. John's.

Fall Fun

Fall has been a busy time and it seems like we're hardly at home.  We've been to school events, Twins games, happy hours, birthday parties, and we made our first trip to a Lynx game to watch them dominate in the playoffs.  Nina was very confused at first, loved all the clapping, and was excited to see a bunch of dogs at halftime.  She still eats a ton, is talking more, and starting to run.

Working on words

Nina has gone from babbling to trying to use words.  She understands pretty much all that we say and responds accordingly (depending on her mood) and now she's making progress on her vocab as well.  While she says "yeah" with some heart and humor, the "noooos" are definitely more emphatic.  She's gotten a few more words down since we've taken all this footage, but you'll get the idea.

14 Months

Back to school, back to work, back to daycare, back to a schedule.  Kara is in her eighth year at Century, Ben his seventh year at North, and Nina her second year at daycare.

We had an extremely productive labor day and managed to squeeze in one last trip to Como.  Nina has really gotten the hang of the word "no" and made a few people at Target laugh; we'll see how long it stays funny.  Once we get in a groove at work, we'll try to get a video of all her new words that she seems to only want to say at home.
