Halvesies IX

2021 was a crazy one for both the world and the Naks.  Living in a pandemic, moving back to America, getting new jobs, finding a place to live, dealing with some health issues -- it's been a bumpy ride, but we're glad to be in it together.  Highlights from the year include our trips to Houtouwan and LA, cousin sleepovers, playing with neighbors, time spent with family and friends, and seeing the AJR concert.

We've gotten into a routine and we are fairly accustomed to life back in Minnesota.  We're excited to be back with family, and miss aspects from our life abroad.  The girls are enjoying the snow and American food, and we admire their ability to adapt and their resilience.  They have their good days and hard days, and always make us proud.

Holidays in Minnesota

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It's been a lovely break spent playing games, reading, sledding, and trying to stay warm.

Snowy times

It's early in the winter season and the snow is still pretty and fun.  The girls are enjoying the sledding time, but not so much the walks around the lake in the cold wind. Pip made a snow unicorn and Nina designed a snow dress.  We were excited to have Maggie come over for a sleepover!

Other highlights this month include celebrating Grandpa Don's 90th birthday party, going to the European Christmas Market, and visiting the decorated Arboretum with Kev, Sue, Erin, Calvin and his girlfriend Alyssa.  We all got ice skates and Nina insisted we give them a go this week; it was a bit melted, but a fun first run.

Ahhh, they've grown so much!    ------    Department Christmas card
