About Nina

Nee-nah: While many may know that Nina means "little girl"in Spanish, its origins go further back. In Hebrew, Nina means "God's favor" or "grace." It means "flowery" in Greek, "mighty" in Native American translations, and "pretty eyes" in Hindi traditions.

She got her middle name, Jennifer, from her Grandma Zeilinger. JEN-i-fur means fair : )

Nina enjoyed coming home today and is getting a feel for her new stomping grounds. Here she is waving from her bed and sleeping in her carseat.

Friends, friends, friends

Nina had a great day full of visitors and showed her appreciation by sleeping for all of them, except Allison, for whom she screamed. It was a pleasure to see Adam, and Great-Grandpa Don (making 4 generations present today).

She experienced what it's like to have brothers when Jimmy came with his mom Jenny and the Ottaviani Family brought young Jordan, Ian, and Eli. It was particularily funny to watch Jimmy run all over in his new shoes and try to touch Nina's hair.

She might be tuckered out because she's been busy skyping with Aunt Cassie and Matt, saying a sad farewell to Uncle Jake when he left, and preparing to go home tomorrow!

Visits and first days

Nina has taken after Kara so far with her love for sleep. Despite starting life with 4 hours of wide eyes, she has been reluctant to show her baby blues ever since. But no complaints here, I'm sure the crying will start when we get home.

Snoring away

Nina slept well the first night after all of her hard work. She just had a few eye drops and zonked out with funny little snores.

Nina Jennifer

Nina was born on July 6th at 9:37 pm. After a long day of great work Kara's pushing met its match against a 9 lb 4 oz baby that was facing upwards in the birth canal. Nina entered the world via c-section and was 21.25 inches long! She clearly gets her size from her large parents. 8)
