April showers bring 88 degrees and more April snow

This month has been a weird one as it started with us enjoying lovely weather in Nebraska, coming back to a snowstorm in MN (now 3rd snowiest in TC history), getting up to 88° later (3 record high days) and then snowing again.  We've tried to enjoy the weather when we can and ignore it otherwise.  We had a great trip visiting Nana and Papa, and Ben and Kara got to see a comedy show from Brian Regan which was fun.  The girls have been busy with MCAs in school and some big exams in Chinese class too.  Nina really enjoyed watching the middle school play this weekend while Pip and Ben went to watch the Saint Paul Saints (with about 500 dogs in attendance).  Pip enjoyed all the freebies, the silly between inning games and catching a bag of peanuts.  Otherwise we've been busy with the usual chaos: school carnivals, dentist trips, making friendship bracelets, highway cleanup, and jury duty.

Marching

Spring break didn't feel very springy, but we enjoyed some break time.  Eating good food, trips to Grandma and Grandpa's, Como, The Bell Museum, Hiawatha, and general wandering about.  We watched a fair amount of a youtube channel, the Korean gentleman, where British kids tried Korean food and it inspired Pip to go try more Korean chicken.  She thought she was good with spice, but it put her in her place a bit, haha.  Nothing a trip to Conny's couldn't fix.

Ben and Pip went to watch White Bear play in the state tourney and had fun cheering them on.  She also got to do some pottery at a birthday party later in the week.  We tried to see some of the Northern Lights that were out this week, but missed.  We did see some trees tapped for syrup, not quite as exciting, but fun nonetheless.

Fun little events

We've had some fun outings to make February memorable.  Pip has been into her gymnastics and enjoyed watching the high school conference meet take place at her home gym.  Some of Ben's students were competing for White Bear and they came to talk to her so it was a good time.  Vivian also had a field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Kara got to chaperone.  It was fun to spend time with her and her classmates.

Nina and Ben went to a two-man show called Potted Potter where a pair of actors did a funny recap of the seven books.  She had a good time, plenty of laughs, and a nice wander about Minneapolis.  She liked seeing all the stars at First Ave and has been on a bit of a Macklemore kick, so that made her smile.

Ben and Kara have also enjoyed a few nights out with the neighbors: Chimborazo, Tattersall, and Bonchon.  Now that we've finally cleared all the ice from our driveway, it's time for another snowstorm.
