Girls just wanna have fun

We're pumped to have had some beautiful spring weather this month and lot of reasons for fun.  Nina had her first dance recital and did a great job.  She followed directions and kept a smile.  Pip shouted, "That's my sister!" and waved hello to her throughout.  

We're starting to get ready for summer and we've started some of those regular activities.  We've been to music in the park, played in the sprinkler, had ice cream and have picked a lot of dandelions. Nina is just as obsessed with them as when she was 1.  

Moms

Happy Mother's Day to all out there.  We were excited to celebrate our weekend with Nana in town.  The girls liked showing off their bike-riding, art-work, and random stories for her.

Also a special Mother's Day wish to Aunt Annie who became a mother of two with the birth of baby Charlie.   Pip was especially excited to meet him and he couldn't be any cuter.

Biker girls

The girls are getting so big!  Nina started riding a bike without training wheels this week!  She had been riding with training wheels, then, when Pip started using the strider bike, Nina tried that out a couple of times and got her balance figured out.  With some help at Barb's, Nina has started cruising and asks to ride every day.  Here's a look at their epic milestone.

Also, we're all thrilled to welcome cousin/nephew Charlie!  He joined the family on Thursday morning, and he's wonderful.  Congratulations to Adam, Annie, and Maggie!  Pictures to come!

Spring is cruisin!

Somehow two weeks have flown by since our last blog post, and we haven't been idle.  We made our first run-in with corporate money-making events by going to Frozen on Ice.  The girls were pretty pumped, but Pip said "This is the best day ever!" and "Can we go home now?" within a 2-minute span at the beginning of the show.  You can see Nina dancing along, and Pip being typical Pip in a picture below.

We also celebrated Easter, visited a few other lakes, went on approximately a million bike ride/park visits, and hit up the zoo and library.  Pip started swimming lessons and is doing wonderfully.  She's the star of the show so far, but we'll see if she can keep it up.  Both girls love coloring on the easel from Jake and Kelsey, which came in very handy during this rainy spell.

Land of 10,000 Lakes

Through random park stops, standard walks, and a request of Nina's to take a picture of the sunrise, the Naks have been to 5 lakes and the Saint Croix River this week.  It's been hot, cold, windy, sunny, and cloudy, but it's always been fun.
