Nina turns twelve

Nina is on the precipice of becoming a teenager and we are proud of the person she is becoming.  She loves to read, cares for others, and always tries her hardest.  Nina adjusted to school and new friends well, continued with her Chinese studies, and is headed to middle school next year.  She says that she really enjoyed the end of year celebrations at school, being a part of projects, collaborating, and celebrating a year with her new friends - especially when they had a sleepover too.

School's out

It was a busy end of the year and hard to believe that such a long year could go by so quickly.  We're proud of the girls for their work this year and good attitudes, and now on to summer and family time.

May has been much warmer and spring-like, thankfully, except for the weekend that involved white-water rafting, camping, and Nebraskans coming up to visit.  We've tried to be out and enjoying the sunshine with park trips, bike rides, and picnics with neighbors.
